Owl Around The World is the launch mission for Synspective's 11th StriX synthetic aperture radar satellite. StriX is a compact, roughly 100 kg-class Earth-observation spacecraft jointly developed from Japanese government-backed research involving Synspective, the University of Tokyo, Tokyo Institute of Technology, and JAXA expertise. Its X-band radar can image Earth's surface through darkness and cloud cover. A seven-panel antenna unfolds in orbit to approximately five metres long, while a high-output amplifier, solar generation, and a high-capacity battery support wide-area and repeated observations. The satellite joins Synspective's growing constellation, which supplies radar data for disaster response, land-displacement monitoring, flood assessment, infrastructure and maritime observation, forest inventory, and other applications that require dependable imaging regardless of daylight or weather.
