EOS-05 is India's first imaging satellite designed to operate from geosynchronous orbit. ISRO launched the spacecraft on GSLV-F17 from the Second Launch Pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, on September 4, 2026 at 02:55 IST (September 3, 21:25 UTC). ISRO reported that the mission successfully placed EOS-05 into the intended sub-geosynchronous transfer orbit; its first two orbit-raising manoeuvres were completed successfully and the spacecraft was healthy as of September 6.
