MTG-I2 is the second Meteosat Third Generation Imager satellite and the third spacecraft in the MTG constellation. Developed by ESA for operations by EUMETSAT, it carries the Flexible Combined Imager and Lightning Imager to improve severe-weather nowcasting, numerical weather prediction, and climate monitoring over Europe and North Africa.
