Electron's 54th mission is 'Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes', a dedicated mission to low Earth orbit for a confidential commercial customer. The mission will launch from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 and will be Rocket Lab's 12th launch of 2024, increasing the record number of Electron launches achieved annually since orbital launch services began in 2018. The expedited mission will also be Rocket Lab’s fastest turnaround to date: from signed contract to launch date in less than two months. Rocket Lab’s rapid call-up launch capability, its standardized and rapid production of Electron launch vehicles that ensures a rocket can be assigned a payload for on-demand launch within days, responsive launch sites, and its experienced team behind the second most frequently launched U.S. orbital rocket, are key enablers for this mission.

Several key science payloads will be delivered to the International Space Station (ISS). This study will utilize 3D brain models derived from patient stem cells to explore potential treatments. Additionally, the mission will carry the Multi-Resolution Scanner (MRS), which will use the Astrobee autonomous robot aboard the ISS to create detailed 3D maps of the space environment. This technology could have significant applications in future space exploration, allowing for automated assessments of spacecraft damage and other remote monitoring tasks. These research initiatives are part of NASA's ongoing efforts to leverage space-based research for both Earth-based health advancements and the development of future spaceflight technologies.

The first two of a planned constellation of four spacecraft for the first Russian space weather monitoring system called "Ionozond". The system being created is designed to solve scientific and applied problems in obtaining fundamental knowledge about the Earth's ionosphere and to receive the ability to monitor near-Earth space continuously. Four Ionosfera-M spacecraft located in two orbital planes (two spacecraft in each plane) will be able to transmit information about physical phenomena occurring in the Earth's ionosphere due to active natural and anthropogenic influences. The "Ionozond" space system is being developed by JSC VNIIEM Corporation at the request of the Roscosmos State Corporation, and in the interests of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Roshydromet.
